Malverns Classic – Ledbury Herefordshire

The Malverns Classic has grown into the UK’s biggest bike festival, bringing together riders of all ages and abilities for a weekend of racing, riding, good food, entertainment and camping. A national collective of like-minded people, it feels less like an event and more like a huge family gathering for everything mountain biking.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Eastnor Deer Park in Ledbury, Herefordshire, it blends fast downhill trails – whether you’re an experienced racer or a first-timer, with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that’s just as enjoyable for spectators and families as it is for hardcore riders.

I first visited in 2018, just for the day, to soak up the atmosphere and photograph the racing. Even then, it was clear this was something special, the buzz of the spectators, the variety of bikes and riders, the shared passion that seemed to connect everyone together.

Returning in 2024 it felt the same, but this time I brought the family and made a long weekend of it, camping on site. The experience really cemented what the event is about: riding by day, relaxing together in the evenings, kids exploring, making new friends and a genuine sense of being part of a wider biking community.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t attend in 2025 due to other commitments, but fingers crossed we’ll be back for the biggest MTB party of the year. For more details and booking information, check out the Malverns Classic website.
